Obituary for Sandra B. Tryon (Tanner)

MASSENA – Mrs. Sandra B. Tryon, 78, formerly of Norfolk, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning, March 17, 2019 at the Highland Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 2017.

Sandra was born June 15, 1940 in Romulus, New York, the daughter of the late Harold A. and Gertrude (Wilkins) Tanner. She graduated from Ovid Central School and later from Canton ATC. On May 26, 1962, she married Howard I. Tryon at the Ovid Federated Church with Rev. David S. Sheldon, officiating. He predeceased her on May 9, 1994.

Sandra was a homemaker and was known throughout the community for her cake making business, especially her wedding cakes.

Sandra is survived by her sister, Elinor Rancitelli of Columbus, Ohio; her brother and sister-in-law, Dale M. and Diane Tanner of Brea, California; her niece and nephews, Elizabeth Carpenter and her husband, Kevin, along with their two children, David and Patrick and Philip N. Rancitelli, his wife, Gina, along with their three children, Joseph, Gabriella and Ariana, and William Murphy.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Harold A. Tanner, Jr.
