MASSENA – Linda Mae (Mossow) Ferguson, 64, a resident of Wesley Chapel, Florida and a native of Massena, passed away December 21, 2018 in Tampa, Florida.
Linda was born November 7, 1954 in Potsdam, the youngest child of the late Francis Winford and Ola Inez (Head) Mossow. She attended schools in Massena. On March 20, 2004, she married Mark Ferguson in Zephyrhills, Florida. Previous marriage to David Smith and Elwood Lauber ended in divorce.
While living in Massena, she worked for many years at the Highland Nursing Home. After moving to Florida, she started working for Applebee’s Restaurant, where she was a head waitress and training waitress for new locations. Linda had a great passion and love for owls and cardinals and also enjoyed doing crafts, traveling, and cooking. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and loved her birds, Marley, Harley, and Buddy.
Linda is survived by her husband, Mark; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Scott Kocher of Waddinton; stepson, Matthew Ferguson of Wesley Chapel, Florida; her grandson and his companion, Nicholas Rogers and Sarah Wise; her sisters, Sharon and David Northrop of Massena; Sandra and Carl Stetter of Zephyrhills, Florida; Barbara Mossow and Claudette Anderson of Massena; and Marilyn Hamphill of Zephyrhills, Florida; her brother, Francis and Carol Mossow of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call May 4, 2019 from 2-4:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where a service celebrating her life will be held at 4:00 PM. Burial will be held privately in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Waddington Fire Department, Waddington Rescue Squad, or the American Cancer Society.
