Obituary for Valerie L. "Kanonsisakhe" Terrance (Francis)
AKWESASNE – “Kanonsisakhe” Valerie Francis Terrance, Mohawk Nation – Snipe Clan, 67, entered back into the Spirit World on her journey to the Creator on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Ottawa Civic Hospital.
Kanonsisakhe was the daughter of Mary Herne Francis and the late Michael H. Francis; loving wife of Robert Phillip Terrance; mother of Jarrad (Wendy), Brooke (Mike), Lenard (Charlene); and stepmother to Cindy (Lyle Lazore). She was the grandmother of Trevor, Edwin, Mercedes, Brodie, Krysten, Tevin, Tye, Kahentase, Kawisahawi, Nolan, Mitchell, Lenni, Lyric, Lenard Jr. “Rawi”, Lantana, and Lotus and great grandmother to Treyton, Taniyah, Kaiden, Kamery, Hendrix, and Barrett.
She was also a loving sister to, Mike Francis Jr. (Ann), Robin Barnes (Jim), Thomas Francis (Marilyn), Joseph Francis (Lorna), John Francis (Carolyn), Dave Francis, James T. Francis (Corleen), LeeAnn Jock (Steve), Cindy Francis Mitchell (Keith), Kathy Francis-Roundpoint (Frank), and the late Donna Hopps (Jake); as well as an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Thursday from 8-9:30 AM. Her funeral ceremony will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at the Mohawk Nation Longhouse, with cremation to follow.
