RAYMONDVILLE – Mr. Harold F. Adams, 77, of Raymondville, passed away Monday afternoon, February 4, 2019 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness.
Harold was born August 5, 1941 in Norfolk, the son of the late Hersey and Lillian (McGregor) Adams. He attended schools in Raymondville and Norfolk. On August 13, 1969, he married Audrey Houghtaling in Hannawa Falls. They later had their marriage blessed at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Father John Kennehan, officiating.
Harold worked at Clarkson University as a custodian for 10 years and a night watchman for 5 years, until becoming disabled. He was an active member of the Knapps Station Community Church and was actively involved as a volunteer with the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry. He enjoyed maintaining his lawn and the lawn of many of his neighbors and friends and was an active ham radio operator for many years.
Harold is survived his wife, Audrey; his children, Kenneth Adams of Norfolk and Maxine Beamis of Chase Mills; his grandchildren, Brandon and Laurie Lauzon and Andrew Lauzon, all of Cornwall; Ken Adams, Jr. of Ticonderoga; Brittany Adams and Joshua Vine of Ogdensburg; Kyle Adams of Norfolk; Laura Beamis of Potsdam; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Uolanda Lauzon on January 8, 2009; his siblings, Dorothy Mitchell, Jean Rockwood, Viola Woodard McGee, Merle Adams, Clark Adams, and Clarence Adams.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on February 16, 2019 at the Knapps Station Community Church with Pastor Lee Sweeney, officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Raymondville Cemetery.
