Obituary for Janet B. Martin (Backus)
PARISHVILLE – Janet B. Martin, 88, formerly of Parishville and Hannawa Falls died Monday morning, March 11, 2019 at Maplewood Campus in Canton where she had been a resident since October 2016.
Janet was born in Southampton, Long Island, New York on June 3, 1930 at 9:55 AM, the daughter of the late Donald E. and Georgia R. (Flannigan) Backus. She attended and graduated from Canton Central School.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Martin) St. Onge, Michael Martin and Scott Martin; her brothers, George Backus and David Backus.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jean Martel; a brother, Donald “Gus” Backus; and her husband, Walter E. Martin.
Arrangements are with the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where memories and condolences may be shared online at www.donaldsonseymour.com. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will be in the summer at the convenience of the family.
