MASSENA – Mr. Rudolf “Rudy” Zyzik, 72, of 4 Randall Drive, unexpectedly passed away Friday morning, February 18, 2011 at his home.
Rudy was born June 29, 1938 in Nuremburg, Germany, the son of Arthur and Veronica Martin Zyzik. He attended schools in Nuremburg, before coming to Massena in 1960. He married Suzanne Frappier , who predeceased him on October 21, 2005.
Rudy was a tool and die maker at General Motors retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1702 and a Booster of the Amvets. He enjoyed playing, watching, and coaching soccer. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Rudy is survived by his 3 children, Bethann and Leo Thompson of Massena; Steven and Julie Zyzik of Massena; and Christine and Brent Poirier of Ogdensburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Morgan Zyzik and Samantha Poirier; his dear lady friend, Louise Taylor of Malone; and his sister, Ursula Werner of Germany.
Friends may call Sunday 12-3 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
