RITA M. DAVIS
MASSENA – Mrs. Rita Margaret Davis, 87, of 14 Hall Road, peacefully passed away early Saturday morning, November 26, 2016 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where she had been a patient since November 16, 2016.
Rita was born July 29, 1929 in Massena, the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Sharlow Yaddow. She married Wallace LaShomb in 1948, which ended in divorce. On July 27, 1981, she married Clarence “Ken” Davis. He predeceased her on July 22, 1994.
Rita was a homemaker and worked for Michelle Audio Corporation from 1970 until 1981. She was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart and a member of the Massena Senior Citizens. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and truly loved life.
Rita is survived by her sons and their wives, Clark and Gail LaShomb of Hudson, New Hampshire and Glenn and Rosa LaShomb of Winthrop; her step-children, Linda Carr of Brasher Falls; Sally Arbuthnot of Cornwall, Ontario; Joanne Lyles of Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Albert Davis of Massena; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth LaBar of Massena and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by two sons, Douglas and Richard LaShomb; her sisters, Beatrice St. Thomas and Gladys Yaddow and her brothers, Franklin and Edward Yaddow.
Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Friday 2-5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 AM at The Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
