Obituary for Joyce K. Robinson

MASSENA – Ms. Joyce K. Robinson, 86, of Pine Street, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017 at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Joyce was born January 27, 1931 in Massena, the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Greeta Flanders Robinson and was a graduate of Massena High School.

Joyce was a phlebotomist at Massena Memorial Hospital for many years and had previously been a bookkeeper for the Town of Massena. Joyce was a longtime communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Joyce is survived by her nephews, Scott and Janet Hazel and their children, Jeff and Cathy Henry and Chris and Paula Henry; David and Nancy Hatch and their children, Stephen Hatch, Katherine Hatch Jerome, and Daniel Hatch; and Michael and Rosemary Hatch and their children, Julie Hatch Maxfield and Anne Hatch Mager; her niece, Jennifer and William Kirchoff and their children, Meagan and David Kirchoff; several great, great nieces and nephews; and her longtime companion and friend, Benjamin “Benji” Cappione.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Ellen Hatch on April 18, 2012 and Nancy R. Hazel on November 26, 2012.

Friends may call Sunday 1-3:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM with Deacon Lora Smith, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, Massena.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
