Obituary for Richard C. Yerdon

MASSENA – Mr. Richard C. Yerdon, 52, of 30 Ridgewood Ave, unexpectedly passed away Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Richard was born July 6, 1964 in Utica, the son of Joanne C. (Richards) and the late Leland J. Yerdon and attended schools in Gouverneur. He enjoyed visiting with his friends, tinkering on his computer, watching movies, and his cats. Richard was a social butterfly and would visit with anyone.

Richard is survived by his mother, Joanne Yerdon of Massena; his sisters, Valerie and Steve Brayton of Massena; Vickie and Roger Due of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Tracy and Kevin Lockenwitz of Sharon Springs, New York; and Teena and Timothy Boyd of Gasville, Arkansas; his brothers, Lee and Karen Yerdon of Russell and Herbert and Lori Yerdon of Gouverneur; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held February 25th at 2:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where the family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart and Stroke Foundation.
