Obituary for Paul A. Fleury

PAUL A. FLEURY

MASSENA- Paul A. Fleury, 87, of 374 Larue Road, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the UVM- Alice Center in Malone.

Paul was born November 13, 1929 in Ft. Covington, son of the late Henry A. and Elizabeth C. Boyer Fleury. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion Post 514 in Winthrop. He was a self-employed farmer, and enjoyed playing cards and volunteering at the St. Regis Nursing Home.

Paul is survived by his companion of several years, Jane Cousineau of Massena; his brother Emmett F. and Kathy Fleury of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his wife Nora (Snyder) Fleury; five sisters, Elsie A. French, Pearl Brown, Pauline Smith, Ona M. Giles, and Betty Dominy; and four brothers, Donald, Leo, Lyle and Walton Fleury.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home Sunday 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Massena, with Rev. John L. Downs celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Parish Cemetery in Brasher with full military honors.

Memorial donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the UVM Alice Center Activities Fund.
