Obituary for Dianne M. Pike (Lawrence)

Dianne M. Pike (Lawrence)
WINTHROP – Mrs. Dianne M. Pike, 71, a longtime resident of Winthrop, peacefully passed away in her sleep on January 16, 2018 at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida where she had been living for the past five years.

Dianne was born on June 22, 1946 in Malone, the daughter of the late Wayne and Ruth (French) Lawrence.

She attended school in Malone, graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1963. She went on to graduate from Massena School of Business. Dianne married Robert Pike, Jr. on May 7, 1966, they share three children.

Dianne was a dedicated secretary in both the medical and automotive field until she was caused to retire due to illness. It was her unforgettable strength that fought and beat cancer, twice making her cancer free for 30 years. Dianne loved her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was always there to cheer for and support them in everything they did. Dianne had a passion for playing bingo and enjoyed the excitement of gambling. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary Club in Florida, where she made many friends. She loved to shop, go dancing, and listening to music with her friends. Next to family, Dianne’s greatest love were her cats. Dianne’s legacy will live on through her strength, love, and giving soul.

She is survived by one daughter, Christine L. Smith and her husband, Eric of Winthrop; two sons, Robert W. Pike of Winthrop and Bryan D. Pike of Buffalo, New York; two sisters, Brenda Bush of Bangor, New York and Debbie Holmes and her husband, Joe of Bangor; one brother, Darrell Lawrence also of Bangor; three granddaughters, Danielle Smith, Marley Pike, and Ella Pike; four grandsons, Adam Smith, Tyler Smith, Jaiden Pike, and Jaice Pike; and the father of her children, Robert M. Pike of Stuart, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Lawrence, Jr.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena on February 3, from 2 – 4:00 PM with a prayer service immediately following.

The gift of flowers may be sent to the funeral home and/or a donation may be made to Relay for Life in memory of Dianne’s strength. Donations may be made directly at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/DiannesSupporters.
