GLORIA M. (DUNKELBERG) PATRAW
BAXTERVILLE – Mrs. Gloria M. (Dunkelberg) Patraw, 89, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 10, 2019 at the St. Regis Nursing Home, where she had been a resident in August 2015.
Gloria was born October 20, 1928 in St. Regis Falls, the daughter of the late George and Pearl Martin Clark and attended schools in St. Regis Falls. On March 23, 1946, she married William Dunkelberg, he predeceased her on July 29, 1982. She later met Neal Patraw, whom she married June 20, 1987 at the Lighthouse Restaurant with Justice Nelson Baker, officiating.
Gloria worked for a time in Loon Lake and was a waitress in Lake Placid. Once moving to the Norfolk area, she worked at MH Fishman’s before becoming the Snack Bar Manager at Ames Department Store in Massena. Gloria loved to “stay busy”, whether it was bowling, playing bingo, cooking, crocheting, playing cards or games on the computer, she kept busy. For 20 years, she and her husband, Neal enjoyed winters in Ocala, Florida.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Neal; her children, William Jr. and Diane Dunkelberg of Norfolk; Barbara and Arthur Borey of Massena; and Daniel and Angel Dunkelberg of Waddington; her step-children, James Clyde Patraw of Albuquerque, NM; Randy and Lynn Patraw of Massena; Suzan and Blair Hopkins of Montana; Cindy Jean and Michael Pare of Connecticut; and Teri Lynn Chapin of Massena; 7 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers, Arleigh and Elsie Walker, Herbert and Donne Walker, and Russell and Nancy Walker, all of St. Regis Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Edward, Harold, Lester, Carl, Goldie, Grace, and Marie.
Friends may call Friday 4-7:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held Saturday 10:00 AM. Burial will be held later in the spring at Bixby Cemetery.
